How to setup outgoing iPlum calls to flow via carrier voice network instead of data?

How does this feature work?

iPlum provides you a unique feature to use carrier voice network to make outgoing calls without relying on internet data on your mobile device. This gives you high reliability of calls and still transmits your iPlum Caller-ID. You can enable or disable this feature any time.

Enable carrier voice network mode for outgoing calls?

  • iPlum App: iPlum App Settings || Calls: Carrier Voice Network or VoIP Data || Outgoing Calls || Use My Carrier Voice Network. Enter your mobile phone number. Save it.

  • Online web portal: Login https://my.iplum.com/. Click “Calling Network Mode” in left menu || Outgoing Calls || Select Line || Use My Carrier Voice Network. Enter your mobile phone number. Save it.

Why does it show an intermediate iPlum number when using carrier voice network mode?

When you dial out using iPlum app, it will first show an intermediate iPlum number which will automatically connect your actual dialed number using iPlum technology. This makes sure that your call goes over carrier voice network & not internet. Rest assure that your called number will only see your iPlum number as caller-id.

How to disable carrier voice network mode & instead use wi-fi or carrier data for outgoing calls?

If you are travelling internationally or permanently located outside US/Canada, you can disable carrier voice network mode.

  • iPlum App: iPlum App Settings || Calls: Carrier Voice Network or VoIP Data || Outgoing Calls|| Use My Wi-Fi or Carrier Data.

  • Online web portal: Login https://my.iplum.com/. Click “Calling Network Mode ” in left menu || Outgoing Calls || Select Line || Use My Wi-Fi or Carrier Data

Troubleshooting

I have enabled carrier calling but it still won’t work?

  1. Make sure you have not enabled “restricted” for your carrier phone number caller-id or setup your carrier phone number caller-id to “anonymous”.

  2. Make sure you are using the same carrier phone number where the app is installed in iPlum outbound carrier settings. If you put a different phone number it will not work.

  3. Please enable “contacts” permission for iPlum app on your iPhone or Android device settings.
