How to setup main iPlum number to ring multiple phones or users with extensions?

iPlum provides three ways to ring Main number to Multiple users:








Option-1: Auto Attendant with Multiple Users as Extensions (Popular Option)

Summary: Auto Attendant is free with iPlum plan. With this approach when the caller dials your main iPlum number they will hear your welcome greeting. They will be presented with options to dial extensions. The users receiving calls would install iPlum app as 2nd line on their mobile devices. Each receiving user can make & receive calls simultaneously. Each user Caller-ID can be configured to show main iPlum phone number.

You would setup a main iPlum number and additional lines with separate iPlum numbers for each user. Users would install iPlum app on their devices as second line and receive iPlum calls with distinct ringtone and visual screen.

Steps:

  • Login https://my.iplum.com .

  • Get a new number or port-in your existing phone number into iPlum.

  • To add additional members (iPlum users), use “Additional Line” feature.

  • Give each new user their own iPlum number with measured or unlimited plan.

  • For each user set their “Caller-ID Number” to show Main Account iPlum Number in Accounts || Actions || Profile & Permissions

  • Click Auto Attendant feature and enable it using examples.

    • Type auto attendant greeting for text to life like speech.

    • Create extensions & link them to each iPlum phone number which you have setup in previous step or external phone numbers. You can add multiple users to one extension to ring sequentially or simultaneously.





Option-2: Simple Call Forwarding with Separate iPlum 2nd Line for Each User

Summary: Each user will have a separate line on their phone. With this approach you can setup Call Forwarding in your iPlum account to ring three (3) iPlum phone numbers. The incoming call would ring on all iPlum numbers and the receiver who picks up the call gets connected. When a user dials out, their Caller-ID will show the main phone number.

Since each user is using iPlum numbers to receive calls, the user can distinguish between calls coming for iPlum number vs. personal calls.

Steps:

  • Login https://my.iplum.com .

  • Get a new iPlum main number or port-in your existing number into iPlum.

  • To add additional members (iPlum users), use “Additional Line” feature.

  • Give each new user their own iPlum number with measured or unlimited plan.

  • For each user set their “Caller-ID Number” to show Main Account iPlum Number in Accounts || Actions || Profile & Permissions

  • Setup Call Forwarding from main iPlum number to additional lines.





Option-3: Simple Call Forwarding to non-iPlum External Phone Numbers

Summary: This approach has lowest cost and requires only one iPlum account.

With this approach you can setup Call Forwarding in your iPlum account to ring three (3) external phone numbers. You can add your iPlum number as one of them. These numbers can be domestic or international. The incoming call would ring on all numbers and the receiver who first picks the call gets connected.

Steps:

  • Login https://my.iplum.com .

  • Get a new iPlum number or port-in your existing number into iPlum.

  • Setup Call Forwarding from main iPlum number to external numbers. You can add your iPlum number as one of them.

  • You can choose to Display Incoming Caller ID to be “Actual Calling Number” or “iPlum Number”.
