How to setup main iPlum number routing calls to multiple phones or users?

I. Route calls to multiple devices using auto-attendant (IVR) and extensions.

II. Route calls to multiple devices without using auto-attendant (IVR) and extensions.

III. Route to multiple external numbers using call forwarding.

Notes:

Option I & II will allow each user in the account to receive calls. It will also allow them to make calls showing main number as their caller-ID. Each user will have an iPlum business line interface created on their mobile phone. You will purchase iPlum subscriptions equal to number of users.

Option III simply forwards the incoming calls to external numbers without the option to make outgoing calls from multiple devices. You can buy only one iPlum subscription.

One can route calls. Texts can’t be replicated to multiple devices. Texting will work to a specific iPlum number only.

I: Route to multiple devices with business line interface using auto-attendant (IVR) and extensions.

Summary:

This option allows you to play a welcome greeting for incoming calls and route them to different phones as a 2nd Line. Each user’s outgoing Caller-ID can be configured to show main iPlum phone number.

You will setup a master account with main iPlum number and add lines with local iPlum numbers for each user. Users will install iPlum app on their devices and login with their distinct login IDs. Auto-Attendant/IVR is free with any iPlum plan. Using this approach when a caller dials your main iPlum number they will hear your welcome greeting. They will be presented with options to dial extensions. One extension can ring multiple devices. All users can make & receive calls simultaneously.

Steps:

  • Login https://my.iplum.com .

  • Get a new main iPlum number or port-in your existing phone number into iPlum.

  • Add additional members : Click “Add Additional Line”. Create a sub-account login-id with physical mobile phone number or an email address. Landline or virtual numbers not allowed when creating sub-accounts.

  • The user will receive a link via phone text or email used to create their sub-account. Once the user clicks the link, it will require them to enter a new password. The user is now connected to the master account and you will see them in “Accounts” section.

Get iPlum number for the user: In the Accounts section, select the additional line setup above, click “Get iPlum Number” to setup a new iPlum number for this additional line.

Caller-ID update: Accounts || Click iPlum Login ID of the User || Profile & Permissions || Caller ID Number || Toggle to Main account iPlum number and Save it.

Voice network mode for best call reliability:
Accounts || Click iPlum Login ID of the User || Calling: Network Mode || Outgoing Calls || Use My Voice Network || Enter the external phone number and save.

Accounts || Click iPlum Login ID of the User || Calling: Network Mode || Incoming Calls || Use My Voice Network || Enter the external phone number and save.

Note: Voice network mode maintains iPlum Caller-ID for all iPlum calls.

  • Auto-Attendant/IVR: Click Auto-Attendant/IVR with Extensions icon and enable it. Read Auto Attendant examples.

    • Type auto attendant greeting for text to life like speech.

    • Create extensions & link them to each iPlum phone number which you have setup in previous step or external phone numbers.

    • Add multiple users to an extension to ring Sequentially or Simultaneously.

Summary:
