How to setup incoming iPlum calls to flow via carrier calling network instead of data?

How does this feature work?

iPlum provides you a unique feature to use carrier calling network to receive incoming calls without relying on internet data on your mobile device. This gives you high reliability of incoming calls. You can enable or disable this feature any time.

Enable carrier calling mode for incoming calls with distinct ringtone?

  • iPlum App: iPlum App Settings || Calls: Carrier Network or VoIP Mode || Incoming Calls || Use My Carrier Calling Network. Enter your mobile phone number. Click “Save & Set Distinct Ringtone” || Ringtone: Change from default to a new Ringtone || Done || Done.

  • Note: Above step may vary for iOS and Android devices.

  • Online web portal: Login https://my.iplum.com/. Click “Calling Network” in left menu || Incoming Calls || Select Line || Use My Carrier Calling Network. Enter your mobile phone number. Save it.

How to make unanswered calls go to iPlum voicemail & not personal voicemail in carrier calling mode?

  • When you setup Carrier Calling for inbound calls at iPlum, you will see an iPlum call with a notification and then actual call with its special logo. If you don’t want to take that call, do not click “Decline”. Simply click “Side Power Button” to stop ringing.

    The ringing will stop after 20 seconds (default) and iPlum will route the unanswered call to iPlum voicemail. If you click decline, the device forces the call to its native voicemail which is inherent hardware limitation.

  • Make sure the ringing time for your iPlum Ringtone is 20 sec or less (iPlum App Settings >> Ringtones >> Time) and if possible increase the ringing time with your carrier to 25 seconds or more.

Disable carrier calling mode & instead use wi-fi or carrier data for incoming calls?

  • iPlum App: iPlum App Settings || Calls: Carrier Network or VoIP Mode || Incoming Calls || Use My Wi-Fi or Carrier Data.

  • Online web portal: Login https://my.iplum.com/. Click “Calling Network Mode” in left menu || Incoming Calls || Select Line || Use My Wi-Fi or Carrier Data

Troubleshooting

I am not seeing the caller’s phone number during incoming calls?

Please enable “contacts” permission for iPlum app on your iPhone or Android device settings.

I am seeing my own name for inbound calls instead of calling party when using carrier calling mode?

Check your device phone book. Make sure there is no contact created with your name & your iPlum number together.
